Students and Researchers
The Museum Barberini is a place of academic research. Students, teachers and staff from colleges and universities are invited to visit the exhibitions individually or as a group and take advantage of the public events, which range from lectures to academic symposia. The integration of the exhibitions into university teaching is actively encouraged. All faculties are welcome. We look forward to your visit!
Prices
Students and their lecturers visiting the museum as a group as part of courses are admitted free of charge. Registration via the Visitor Service is required for this purpose.
Details on regular admission prices and all information about your visit can be found here.
Guided Tour for Groups — Enjoy the originals!
An art historian will guide you through the Hasso Plattner Collection with over 110 French Impressionist pictures or the masterpieces of the current special exhibition and share fascinating, amusing, and essential facts about the pictures, their stories, and the exhibition concepts. Groups are no larger than twenty people, and audio devices enable you to keep your distance from the other visitors while still asking questions and engaging in conversations about art.
Online Live Tour
The Online Live Tour offers groups the possibility to visit the exhibitions in the museum virtually. Together with a guide you will visit all exhibition rooms online and experience the paintings up close. In conversation with the guide you can learn more about the artists, their works and the context of their creation – almost as if you were in the museum.
Symposia
Each exhibition project at the Barberini Museum begins with an academic symposium. Internationally renowned experts present their latest research findings and discuss the topic publicly with participants and guests. The lectures of the symposium are published in the exhibition catalogue. Students from any faculty can take part in the symposia free of charge following prior registration.
