Opening with Gerhard Richter

In 2016 the Hasso Plattner Foundation acquired Richter’s abstract painting A B, Still (1986), which offered the opportunity to present the idea of an exhibition on abstraction to the artist. Gerhard Richter agreed to the proposal and contributed numerous works on loan, many of which had never been exhibited before. He also continued developing the concept of the exhibition, added to it, and celebrated its opening with us in June 2018.
