Education and Inspiration
Cultural education is a central focus of the Museum Barberini: we want to inspire active engagement with art and bring it to life in a variety of ways. We provide information on the context and background of exhibited works, explain artistic techniques and materials, and spotlight artist personalities and art movements. Both on site at the museum and online, we accommodate the differing interests and needs of our guests and facilitate dialogue and participation for all.

From Studio to Museum Courtyard
Studio
The new Barberini Studio, opened in February 2025, is a place of encounter and a creative meeting point that inspires and sets new impulses. Workshops and events explore the artistic, social, and technological themes of our contemporary world. In cooperation with media producers and leading scholarly institutions, our programs address current issues and promote multifaceted exchange.

Atelier
Since the founding of the Museum Barberini in January 2017, the Atelier has been a popular venue for creative workshops. With drawing and painting, printmaking and photography, designing and modeling, here all our guests can find inspiration and create works to take home with them.

Auditorium and Museum Courtyard
The large hall on the second upper floor provides space for scholarly conferences, lectures on art, readings with prominent guests, and concerts associated with the exhibitions. On the media wall, a film program explores the exhibition themes with video close-ups and expert interviews. When the weather is nice, workshops and events also take place outside in the Museum Courtyard.
App and Media Library

The Barberini App and media library have everything you need to explore our exhibitions: audio guides, expert interviews, city tours, video close-ups of paintings, essays, yoga sessions, and more. Discover the exciting stories around the works—before, during, and after your visit!
